First time in the Eme-reno-ld city for awhile.
Quiet. Doesn't look great for my favorite gaming town in the universe.

As for the title subject, we'll likely need an elaboration/clarification from Remano, our resident expert on local events. But the corner of Kietzke and Moana had been cleared off. The Pizza building was GONE. Used to be a good place for a quickie -- meaning, a quick slice.

Our "new resident", Swede, put me onto a good place. The Biscotti bar has expanded from a wine room to include some really top shelf beers.
Now this won't interest one of our mods but the other one will LOVE it. You gotta stop in there, Hawk, and tell me if you agree: The Strong Ales are the drink of choice.
And, John, your heinie is priced at a well-rounded 6.50. And speaking of 6.50 beers, what the hell is a "scrimshaw"?
The Speakeasy Prohibition at 8 bucks sucked a bit. I sent it back only half consumed. got a funny look from the bartender on that one.

And finally: I saw her at the slot tourney, I believe, and I gotta say this. Erin from South Dakota is smokin' hot -- looks just like her avatar. Well, she probably does cause I had to sort of "envision" part of the pic. Very Happy

I also looked for "Boston College" Dave but he didn't seem to be around.

I think I did see Stan's face on a party balloon.
Also encountered a guy with a ferret on his shoulder. Was that you, John?
That thing surely had a long gray tail hangin' down his back.

Happy gaming to all!!!!!

Thanks for the report. Talking about your beers- the scrimshaw is a pilsner I believe. I have had that one, but don't remember much about it, so must be just an OK beer. I have also had The Speakeasy Prohibition a couple of times (once on tap somewhere)....too hoppy for me.

So- you couldn't get up the nerve to introduce yourself to Erin? Or maybe it just didn't work out.....

Not sure about the title of your post....need some help as I don't speak Navajo.

Nu Yalk Pizza was a well-known pizza joint on that corner. Lots of board visitors used to hit it for a slice or two. They made slices to order for less than 3 bucks. good pizza. Maybe they are rebuilding on the corner, relocating, or out of business. Maybe Mickey D (not a Navajo name) is taking over the corner.

As for the beer, thanks for the most important data. Made my trip special. We need to host a couple some time. Twould be velly intellesting (as Artie Johnson used to say on Laugh-In).

Yeah, the transit authority is widening Moana west of Kietzke. To make room many businesses have lost parking and some (including NYP) were bought out altogether. I only ate there a couple times but it was always good. One of my co-workers, who was born and raised in Nu Yalk - er, New York - swears it was the best pizza west of the original.

The owners have bought a new place with the money from the eminent domain condemnation, but it's w-a-a-y South on Virginia Street, not convenient to any of the casinos and not open yet. Their web site says they will open in May. Here's the site:

Hahaha, were you really at the slot tourney? If you saw me, was I with anyone?? You should've said HI!

My parents told me they're widening Moana to 6 lanes. My mom also said Nu Yalk relocated south of the old place, but you never know with her, it could be true, or not.
