Has anyone tried the Early Bird Prime Rib special at the Circus Circus Steakhouse? I was wondering if it was even worth the $9.95 price. Food in the other restaurants can be iffy. I will be going up next Sunday.

Hello hifi,

Sorry I can't tell you about the prime rib at Circus but I can tell you
that the prime rib dinner at Molly's Garden at Fitzgeralds is one of the
best we've ever had (for around the same price). It's not a fancy
restaurant but the food & service were always great the times we've
been there.

Good Luck in Reno!

Peb, I agree with you on the Prime Rib at the Fitz upstairs in Limericks.
It is a great meal especially for the price. We always go there for dinner at least once when in Reno. I like the Fitz a lot and would be really
unhappy if they would close. Lets hope that they get new owners and do well. Barb

My wife and I had the prime rib in Limericks on two consecutive trips and didn't think it was very good either time.
In fact, I don't find much on Limerick's menu to entice me.
We enjoyed the Coffee Shop (Mollys) just as much.

Was disappointed last trip, however, on the breakfast specials. Less food and a higher price. We were eating there daily no matter where we stayed but last trip changed that. Now it is not worth the walk and the time.

Hifi, we seem to have "hijacked" your thread about Circus. Sorry, most of us don't like to see that happen. Guess most of us don't know anything much about the Circus thing and are trying to offer what positive related options we know about.
Welcome to the board.

I was interested in the Circus Circus deal because they sent me a $25.00 food comp, and cheapskate that I am Laughing , I could get drinks and dessert on the house with the extra $15.00!

By the way, other than the free entertainment (bums hitting me up for money and the "lovely" cocktail waitresses), I go to the CC for the $1.00 Aces and Eights video poker game...I always play it once every trip. It has a progressive royal flush, progressive 4-of-a-kind on aces or eights, $250 for four sevens, and a sequential royal flush that was over $68,000 last time I checked. Otherwise, it is a standard 8/5 Jacks or Better game. It actually has a over 100% payout even without the relatively high progressive, which maxes out at $200,000. Even so, I've seen people playing it "short coin"! It is straight back from the hotel lobby into the casino about 100 feet on the left...you can't miss it, eight "sitdown" games, four on each side of the signage.

I almost always get at least 4 of a kind on this game. It's fun to cashout with 2 buckets of dollar tokens and lugging them to the self redemption machine!

Please play it so the progressive is that much higher when I arrive on Sunday.

Food at the Circus is just o.k and sometimes less.We have been staying at the Circus because we like the mixture of people there and the relaxed atmosphere, their comps are great but the food is nothing to write home about.
Let us know if you try it (guinea pig!)
Thanks,
Lee

I did try it...I would say that the prime rib was a little on the fatty side. I had a small side salad with(too much) caesar dressing, baked potato(good!), vegetables (not overcooked). I really liked the breads they put out, it was a variety of warm rye, sourdough and wheat rolls. I had a Bombay Sapphire martini, house merlot, and to-die-for strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Service was attentive and friendly--the restaurant manager even came out and asked me how the meal was.

Armed with my $25.00 food comp, including tax and tip, the whole thing was about $11.00. Not bad!

I didn't crack that video poker progressive, though, which is probably over $70,000 by now. I'll try again when I go up for the Air Races in September.
