Just wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year! I hope 2007 is a great year not just for all of us but for Reno as well. Now if things ever get rocky I can always hold onto the fact that I actually posted the very first message on the this great message board in 2007! Cool

I went to see the NYE firewords display downtown last night for the first time in about 5 years. It was fairly spectacular with effects that were new to me. The weather was extremely friendly (29 degrees at midnight) allowing for a very large turnout. Almost no incidents with rowdys, gangbangers or police. I heard a few reports of arrests for public intoxication (none of which involved me, darn it).

The display lasted 15 or 20 minutes and cost $100,000. That money would have been better spent if it had been used to support visitreno.com. It was enjoyable enough that I might do it again in another 5 years.

Here's wishing everyone a year full of Reno runs, jackpots, free drinks and lots of cigarettes.

ok, I'll be #4 for 07.

I watched the fireworks from my room window at Siena. Awesome. The 3 casinos seemed to be coordinating what they shot off. A very pleasant way to watch and I was 40 degrees warmer than John.

I'm jumping in a little early here as my "lucky number" is 14. But it's kinda cool to post a message on January 1st so I'll settle for fifth. So as the "Puffer" ... OK "ex Puffer" says, Happy New Year!
