Did "Lost" Flight 815 carry all the VisitReno Board members to an uncharted Pacific Island?
This board is dead. Maybe everyone is watching the NCAA.
Which reminds me: A few board members were to be in Reno for the BB games last weekend. How did it go, people? Anything of interest? Anything new and different except for the Awful Awful continuing to escalate in price as fast as gasoline?

Will we continue to go to Reno with gas prices soaring?
Why doesn't any Presidential candidate suggest (even lie) that he/she can do something about this disgusting excess profit scheme?
I read yesterday that some refineries in the US have cut production because profits are not high enough. Were it I running for office, I would be advocating the "Nationalizing of the Oil Industry".

I don't want gas prices to keep me from my Reno therapy sessions.
Do you? Will it?

Reno casinos may need to offer more financial incentives to get us there with the sad economic conditions. Free rooms and food and a few bucks free play are starting to look meagre in this economy.
I don't want this to further erode the Reno businesses.

Enough rambling. I must have said something here to generate some board interest.

As I mentioned, be very careful of what you wish for, 'cuz, well....

I hate to get political, since this is one of the few forums that's mercifully free of such shenanigans, but is it really in our best interest to forbid the construction of any and all new electricity AND nuclear power plants, prohibit offshore drilling, and leave Alaska untapped? I have seen no convincing evidence that drilling in portions of ANWR will kill cute little seals and mighty Elk - such over-the-top protectionism does nothing for us.

We are being told, ad infinitum, that we must reduce our dependence on foreign oil - but apparently, we're supposed to do it with new technologies that don't yet exist, as well as with windpower (no good, kills birds), or greenhouses, or, or.....whatnot. The steps I listed above would go light years beyond what any of our poilticians would dare to even think aloud of in terms of freeing us from our IV-tube to our good friends, the Saudis.

We are in stasis right now, and the remark about the refinery that said it was "Not making enough profit" would have the wind taken out of its sails if the feverishly absurd restrictions on refinery construction and operation were relaxed even just a little - then, the market - supply and demand, those much-ridiculed concepts that nevertheless have brought millions and millions more people out of poverty than any other system in history - would correct such absurdities through ordinary consumer transactions.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a presidential candidate to discuss such things honestly and fully.

All right, I've said enough to generate a year's worth of hate mail.

MODERATOR'S NOTE:
Stan, you need to stay on Reno topics!!
SO, BACK TO THE TOPIC:
Will this keep you, and anyone else from making as many trips to Reno????

*ahem* - I was answering honorable Jerry-san's question about whether presidential candidates might propose any action to take on the matter of gas prices.

So if I'm off-topic, it's his fault!

The Price of Gas is crazy. And it does make it harder to drive all the way down to Reno.

All Politicians are out of their minds. No new Nuke Plants from 1979. No new refineries, no drilling off our shores or in Anwar. They are nuts. We need the damn Oil, till they come up with a decent alternative. The Stupid (Dem) Congress is now hyping higher Taxes and Higher Gas Taxes! They are nuts!

Rant now over, and you know my political leaning!

We are going to try to head the Reno way in June. I hate our Local Indian Casinos, but I can get a Craps Fix, if I am desperate.

YoMan over and out..............

Hey Guys, I'll bite. Keep the rants going. I must tell you I did just get back from one of my favorite places and had a BLAST! Honestly it won't make a difference or keep me from coming to Reno but the $ of gas stinks! The ironic part is that I am not going to be able to come back to Reno for March Madness for a bit as we just accepted jobs teaching overseas for an "oil school" of all things. We will be teaching the oil workers kids in Indonesia. Think they have Casinos their?? Ha! Ha!
We fly from Seattle here and if you look at airline prices they really aren't all that bad. Of course I miss the Reno Air days but it still isn't that bad.
I am working on a Trip Report but the gist of it will be a great time as always! I hear you on that Craps fix Yo Man. I tell you that that $2 and 10X odds at the Siena is pretty hard to beat. Though they do have a Pit Boss there named Roger that is a Horses Ass!
Reno looked great and though it wasn't packed it was still busy. Can't get over how much work they have put into those Condo's. Specifically the old
Golden Phoenix. Can you even imagine how much $ they are into that for? Are they really selling them? I am almost positive there is one there especially for our favorite moderator John! Goofy to me! Well I will be posting more later though I could ramble on............
Heck get going on Politics and we can really liven this thing up!
Cheers for Now! Smile

I love the Siena for Craps. However the gals hate the place, while we play Craps they seem to always get killed on the Slots. I have noticed that Pit people can be real asses, but most of the folks on the table have been decent.

Sure wish a few other Downtown Casino offered better Craps Games.

While I usually play at a $5 Min level or more, these places make me crazy buy expecting $5 Min bets. Craps scares the hell out of most people, and not allowing people to learn at lower levels of play is just nuts. Where and how are they going to develop new players? I hate being forced to play $5 min bets....I hate it! (Vegas it $10 $15 )

My friends would never go near a Table if I wasn't there holding their hands, and they are terrified trying to keep track of their money.

Casino's are crazy not to have low limit games for beginners. Hell I know everything! LOL1

YoMan.....over and out

Well, Ryder, you can either let your imagination run wild or ask BC Dave about the bird's perch. He made the avatar. That was quite a night at Shooters!

Gotta tell you that I saw John recently and he is HOTTER than ever. We were surrounded by pretty women the entire time. I had to beat them off for him.

Hey, bored members, I need my daily fix. What's happenin with y'all?
'
I started this thread 25 days ago and things picked up quite a bit.
Guess 815 is back.

We need more Ryder pics, I guess.

If the board doesn't pick up immediately, then I am leaving for RENO.
Heck with the VR fix; I'll just do the REAL THING>>>>>>

Look out Reno, the ROYALS are coming and I don't mean the Royal Family from Great Britain.

I am long overdue.

Where are the hot Peppemill machines located?????
(Other than the infamous 10X of MG fame).

Red-faced he sat at his "puter wondering how to respond.
'
And then he thought of John's reaction.
John, eat your heart out, my friend. After all, there is friendship and then there is, well-l-l, FRIENDSHIP.

No, I am not bringing pics to Reno....

(Does anyone know how to fix the Hard Drive. I think I burned mine up.)
