So, I assume that many of you received the email offer from the Peppermill for the Montego Bay Wing ($65 for Fri/Sat), Peppermill Tower ($75 for Fri/Sat) and Tuscany Suite ($105 for Fri/Sat).
For a moment I was bedazzled, but then took hold. I’d love your thoughts about this deal and the differences between these rooms. While we always spend some of our gaming time at the ‘Mill, our last overnight stay was sometime in the 1990s!
The reviews I’ve been seeing are all over the place, but not very complementary of the new Tuscany Tower. What are your thoughts?
Of course, the thought of the Fireside Lounge is always appealing to me.
What of their new dining options? Anyone?
How about the spa? Have you seen the Atlantis Spa?! These two new additions to the spa scene seem pretty interesting (and spendy).
We usually stay at the Silver Legacy or Harrahs. So, stick with what we know or venture south? |

For obvious reasons, I have no reason to stay in the Pepp's rooms, but I have eaten at Biscotti's on a number of occasions, and thought it was pretty good. The other night I tried the new steakhouse, and wasn't all that impressed. I had the scallops (four big ones) and the prettiest girl in Nevada had the salmon (average size fish). Since I used the Tuscan 2 4 1 promotion, the $59 bill was about $33, which made the food taste a little better. Lisandra wasn't working that night, which made the food taste a little worse. All in all, I don't think I'll be eating there again.
That's all I have to say about that. |

OT first: What I can't figure, John, is why you always go the STEAK house for your seafood????? Oceano would be the choice for seafood -- or do you go there for the STEAK??
(cynicism and humor aside: I don't care WHERE we dine or WHAT we eat, so long as we dine together. So there: Put that in your smipe and poke it).
On topic:
I don't care for Biscottis. Haven't had a really good meal there yet in 4-6 chances. The Steak House does not compare to the old one. Prices are sky-high as well. Howsomever, Lisandra is most definitely a PLUS...)
As to the Tuscan Suites: IMO,They are the finest rooms I have ever stayed in. I like them better than Wynn Las Vegas which is the ONLY 5-star and 5-diamond hotel casino in the WORLD...
I have an offer at Tuscany for 2 nites which expires in next couple weeks and cannot find transport thru the mountains to use the offer. If weather dramatically changes for the better in next few days, I'll try it in the family sedan -- but it doesn't look good.
I have hinted to my friends with 4WDs but no takers so far and none likely. Hey, perhaps they are not really "friends".
Never stayed in Montego wing. I really love the steam showers in the Tower spa rooms but the rooms/spa otherwise don't do that much for me. |

If you want to be near the gambling area I strongly recommend staying in the Tower rooms. They are renovated and we had a nice room. Ask at check in if its a remodeled room?
The Tuscany Tower is a hike from the main casino. If that is not a concern I've only heard good things.
I wouldn't stay at the Montego Bay rooms. Small and a LONG hike to the main casino. I've haven't read anything good about them. They are cheap. If you are looking for cheap, then stay and don't complain. I'm not being harsh, just truthful.
Go to the Peppermill Casino website and look at the various menu specials. Oceana has good lunch specials. Coffee shop doesn't advertise their Prime Rib or half price Asian dinners prior to 5 pm on the weekends. And always the comfort food is a good buy during the weekdays.
You can;t go wrong with 2 for 1's. The coupon book that offers free casino play is a good bet. Ask at the information desk.
Be sure to get a player's card. Comps are generous compared to other casinos we have been to.
Have fun and hope you post a trip report

I just returned from a trip at the Peppermill (thinking about writing a report). I stayed in the Tuscany Tower again. Everything is very nice....you heard bad reports?? Hmm. I could find nothing wrong at all, although this Tuscany room did not have a tub. Yes, the Tuscany tower rooms require an extra 5 minute walk to the main casino... but not a big deal.
If you are going soon, cross off Biscottis, as they are closed for a month for some work (???).
I really enjoyed the Tuscany Lounge this trip. Great bar service- good vp paytables, and a good live band playing in the evening. |
