"They do have new drink policies. Everything I ordered had to be approved thru a supervisor. "

Now are you talking about ordering 20 year old scotch or something? or is a supe approving draft beer orders from the floor? Sheesh! and R and I have been complaining when a Harrah's CW denies us Absolute Martini's unless we are Diamond level (we're Platinum). This is enforced rarely, about every other trip, and it really makes the enforcers look bad.

RL: I think I first ordered Bombay Sapphire and Tonic. Once that was approved, all the waitresses seemed to know and would come around and ask, "Do you want another of the same?".
It's kinda like flying today. They gotta "profile" you first.

Went to Pep drawings and got ZIP. Had a buncha tickets. Maybe it was also "fixed" as I suggested in the ?Eldo drawing.

We tried out the El Adobe. We were shocked at the prices. We don't eat out much and think that 10-15 bucks for a couple of Mex items on a plate is a LOT. We won't go back. Tried to order the daily special shown on the board and was told that it was yesterdays' and should have been erased. My wife wanted to walk out right then. We stayed. Food OK but there are many better values out there IMO. I think they are trying to live off of their reputation of beating out Bertha Miranda's one year as Best Mex in the yearly poll.. Course most all of these polls anywhere are "rigged" and nowhere near objective.

But, thanks to Remano for the insights on these things. We all have different tastes and different values. It's all part of the adventure.
We still have a couple more in sight for the next trip.

And, oh yes, while on the subject of food. We had another lousy meal at Saucy's in the Pep. I think that is three strikes on them.
But service was good and company was excellent.
(The cheap Pep would not even comp me that one meal. They never comp anything but the room.)

I think that I am "over-comping" the Pep with what I lose in justifying the "FREE" room. Still I like the place. It has a certain lure. Maybe that's because I carry a White Cane and am not subjected to the existential atmosphere to the extent that others are.

Jerry,

Sorry for the bum steer on El Adobe. We eat there regularly (as recently as last week) and have always been satisfied. Maybe our tastes in Mexican food just aren't the same.

Hey, no apology needed. It is what it is.
that is what makes the world go around. As I said, we'll try more of your suggestions next trip.
We simply don't eat out much as our budget is limited. That's why we eat in Reno at the casinos.

Keep posting the "insider" views, please. Always appreciated.
