Does a line of credit at the casino benefit you ? Such as not taking as much cash on yourself or more offers or in case you are robbed (cash and credit card(s)) you have access to cash.

I think it would certainly be great to those that wager bigger amounts to not have to carry that much cash--- I don't fit in this category. You are not going to get better mailed offers, as these are based on the amount gambled, not how much money you have. If you get robbed and have everything taken, how are you going to show ID to get the cash?

The downside? 1. You may be tempted to wager over your head when you know that cash is so easy to get at the cage. 2. The casino will run a credit check on you. I have heard your credit score will drop when they find out you are being checked by a casino.

I'm sure it used to...at least at the sawdust joints I was a regular at.

I read a book some years ago about how to get extra comps at casinos and showing more cash than you intended to lose was one of the ways they suggested to get additional freebies without losing it all.

The easiest way to start is to call a month or so before a trip. Call the Cage manager and ask him if you can send down some "Front Money" by personal check early enough so the check clears with no worries. It would help if you had a club card with some history of past play.

I started by sending $ 2,000 maybe three weeks before I got there and then I could either go to the cage and get cash OR (better) take a marker against your "front money" at the craps table.

You'll get special attention from the pit boss on duty and likely will be credited with a little more action than you would otherwise.

I would always draw more than I actually put into play and eventually drew it all down (even if I never put it all into action).

After doing this a couple of times, THEY will suggest the line of credit.

When you sign an actual marker, it reads like a check. All they have to do is slap your bank's name and account number on it and deposit it.

Another thing I made a big production about was taking a lock box that was actually IN THE MAIN CAGE. I'd stuff a bunch of loose cash (always big bills on the outside) and some big chips. I'd take it out and put it back later (with some $ 100 chips from other casinos). It's all on camera & it seemed like the next day the pit boss knew which casno's chips I had in my lock box.

If, you were robbed they really just want your cash and credit card not your driver license.

I think that I do get better offers with a line of credit on file.I can take out markers and don't need to take any cash with me. They seem willing to work with me more when I have a line of credit.
