I, for the life of me, cannot even remember the weight of the plane. The pilot told us the weight empty, then you just have to calculate people, stuff and fuel, I guess....if I can remember (or if anyone I was with knows), I shall report back. I think that was the only question, but I can't recall for sure. They gave away a prize for the worst guess too, which was funny!
They (Allegiant) said they can't do the 'toss a $1 in the hat and we'll call your seat number' game anymore because they 'don't have a casino on board', what-ever!
When we checked in with our group (booked via wendoverfun.com) we got a booklet of coupons. Let's see if I can remember them all:
Buy one get one free at any restaurant (even the nice ones)
3 match-plays for table-games ($5 and 2-$10 I think)
$5 off food from any restaurant
$5 free play for giving your email addy to the players club - BEWARE you can only PLAY your freeplay at the casino at which you gave your email, so check in at the players club where you want to play!
$10 off any spa service (I HIGHLY recommend this)
10 or 15% off in the gift shop, but you can't buy food, booze or cigs with that discount I believe
We didn't visit the Peppermill, but the Rainbow and the MB were pretty similar, same games, similar restaurants (except each one has a different fancy/expensive one), etc.
In the MB there's a little coffee/bakery stand by the elevators, open mornings only - little pastries, donuts, juice, etc. I would guess the P-mill would have something similar.
I had a club sandwich, a croissant deli sandwich and my friends got chicken fried steak, burgers, etc. and we got it to go, plopped in front of our fave VP machines and dug in - makes it more like 'not really eating' yanno? LOL Just check the hours of the full menu if you want something that's not specifically marked '24 hours' because I had to get the croissant deal before 11pm I think - they also stop serving soup at 11p - guess it is too hard to um, MICROWAVE? LOL
If you're going for a romantic trip, I'd recommend upgrading to the mini-suite, because it has the nice Jacuzzi and ours had a steam shower, which would be nice if you liked steam, I think?
There's a covered walkway between the MB and the Wendover Nugget (and everywhere we went they had little buckets on the floor, catching water, in the hallways, casinos (all of them) etc) so maybe watch for drips too!
I've heard good things about Trina's Tacos (in the Wendover Nugget) but didn't have a chance to try them out - too little time and too much gambling to be done!
Hope this helps and if you need anything else, just holler! I searched ALL over the internet for info pre-trip and really came up basically empty! Glad I can give more info!
Thanks - lauren in TX |

Thanks for the additional information. My offer was FREE and $75 in free play, so I did not question them about only the Peppermill being available. Those coupons actually sound like something useful.
I did a little internet search and found a plane of that type weights about 78.000 lbs empty. So- I have something to go by if they ask such that question.
I am looking forward to getting back to Wendover. This is my first time on a Peppermill plane offer. I hope to get a picture of Wendover Will too. |

My Wendover trip is done, and I thought it was very nice. The flight was only 55 minutes, so there was no time for all the plane weight guessing. They pulled out some seat numbers for $25 in free play and also some buffet coupons....we got nothing.
We ended up staying at the Peppermill and I upgraded at the desk to a mini suite which was nice. It was an extra $35/night, but I used all my comps that just about paid for the whole charge.
There is not much to do in town other than drink and gamble (whick I did in excess). We did a lot of walking and hit all the casinos. The Red Garter and Nugget had very little business, but maybe it gets better during weekends.
Those coupons were very valuable. We dined at the steakhouse and it was great! That coupon was worth $30 there. Also, the upscale Mexican place at the Peppermill was very good.
The plane was delayed coming home, but we got to see them practice for the air show which is today. Amazing show.
Anyway, it was a worthwhile deal. It was a very cheap vacation. Gambling wise it was a little south. By the way- I found some full pay video poker games at the Peppermill and Rainbow. |

Hi Lauren, Duckman and CaSwede,
Thanks so much for the detailed trip reports from your Wendover adventures. I seem to get alot of offers from them (lately more than the Pep in Reno), despite the fact that I've never been and haven't played at the Pep for a while (but then again, I recently got mysteriously bumped up a level as well!) and have always wondered if it would be worth the trip - they only leave from Fresno in the offers I get, and that's a bit of a hike from here. It was good seeing this thread and knowing that I'm not the only one who's crazy enough to look at places I've never been at googlemaps.com! haha
A few of my neighbors are hardcore mountain bikers and have often travelled through there on the way to Utah, who have mentioned that there isn't much there in general. Good to see the lowdown on the casinos and everything else.
Does anyone happen to know if you can use your Peppermill Reno Passport card at the Wendover properties? It appears they also have a Passport program but didn't know if it could tie in with Reno points. I visited their property in Henderson, the Rainbow Club, a couple of years back and their system was completely standalone at the time.
Thanks again!

I asked about using our Reno Peppermill card here and they said nope! They're both called Passport Cards but when we joined in Wendover, they put a little sticker on it with a plane, that probably means = here on a freebie don't expect much! LOL
Happy trails!
