RGJ recently reprinted an article from 1990 imagining what Reno would be like if its casinos all closed. Now, 20 years later, we can judge how accurate it was, as well as how many of the predictions may yet come to be. The sidebar comments are equally interesting.

On another subject, KOLO TV had a report last night saying the owners of Fitzgerald's parking structure have made a commitment to clean it up and remove the graffiti real soon now, with tentative plans to have it open for parking in about 6 months. City officials cautioned that the clean up is pretty certain, but reopening is much more speculative because of the economy.
