I'll not be flying down to Reno de Genero until the snow quits flyin.

But I've been sucked in by that "resort fee" and "energy surcharge" before & it burns my butt. It's right up there with 6/5 blackjack payouts!

Years ago, I got a couple of "Free" nights at the Riverboat.

But when I checked in, I had to pay for BOTH nights in full (with tax and a surcharge of some kind) THEN they credited me with "free play" in the same amount (less the add ons) as the base room rate.

Anyone think they forwarded the 10% room tax to the gubmint?

Even recently, I had two "free" nights at the Peppermill and they wanted my credit card # when I booked it.

"So let me get this straight" , says I. "If I show up AFTER 3 but before 6, the room is 'free' for two nights. But if I show up AFTER 6 or not at all, you will NOT hold the room AND I'll my credit card will be charged at $ 90 x 2 nights PLUS room tax & resort fee?"

"Well, I normally go to dinner, movie and drinks well into the evening before I give a woman my credit card.... if you know what I mean...."

Oh well, gift horses... and I never did know what's in a horse's mouth worth inspecting anyway.
