From the downtownmakeover web site, here's an interesting and fairly accurate rundown of many of the non-casino based downtown restaurants. The author must not like Asian food, though, because he completely omits reference to any of them. I have had pretty good meals at Pho 777 (E. Second St. near Cal Neva), Thai Corner (W. Second at Sierra) and Pho Country (N. Virginia across from SL). One I haven't tried that usually gets favorable reviews is Golden Flower Vietnamese (W. 5th behind Circus Circus). It's been ten years or so but I've had the Pho soup at the Golden Flower a couple of times. Both times the soup was excellent.
