I do! I do!
And thank you, VAPA, for a 2011 full of obscure hotel discounts.

Me too. Though not a member of that particular sect I celebrate Christmas with the fervor of a TV Evangelist. The only thing missing is Reno.

I'd like to echo Stan's thanks to you, Vapa, for all those discount codes.

And for some Christmas cheer here's a photo of an Eldorado Christmas show poster from a few years back. Mmmmm Christmas shows!

While I do love me some Motown, the upcoming "toe-tapping" extravaganza at Harrah's for Christmas just ain't the same as fancy showgirls with feathers, boobies, and high heels.

And I wonder when Caesar's is going to drop Harrah's Reno... it's almost not even listed on the Total Rewards site anymore.. when you hit "TAHOE" at the top, it doesn't even show the Reno property, but you're redirected to a fancy Tahoe Total Rewards page - http://www.caesars.com/total/reno/ If you substitute "reno" for Tahoe in the address, it gives you a 404 error.. To find Harrah's Reno, you have to choose "brands" then "Harrah's" and find it at the bottom of the list.

All that being said, we had reservations for Christmas at Harrah's, but then I called the Cal-Neva and Irene said, "Come on over! We've got your rooms covered and a slot tourney, too!" So for the second year in a row, The Dog and I will be jingling our bells in Reno for Christmas - woooooo-hooooooo!!! And for the first year ever, we'll driving back just a few days later to go ring in the new year on Virginia Street... trip report to follow soon.... [/url]

Here's wishing the best holiday season ever to all our wild and crazy board members and especially to all those Harrah's showgirls shown in Dave's post.

May 2012 be filled with jackpots, comps and free play. May all your troubles be minor and all your joys ... uh, not minor. And always remember, "a bird in the hand is bad table manners".

I actually saw that Eldorado Christmas Show with Mr. Merrill Osmond. It was a glorious treat of "cheeze". In addition, we had photos with him as he left backstage AND the next morning, we sat next to him at Tivoli Gardens for breakfast. Surreal.

Lily-I noticed the website as well. Further, Harrahs has nothing listed in the entertainment calendar after the first of the year either. Also heard word that a number of waiters at the Steakhouse have made the jump to the Atlantis Steakhouse. I think we will see it close in 2012......

Well, I know Ozzie is still at the Steakhouse - at least through Christmas as we made reservations with him as our waiter for Christmas night!

So speaking of Atlantis, does anyone on here go play regularly down there? The Dog and I have been there a few times, but never played much...

Ahh, Ozzie. He does make some great wine suggestions and a super Caesar Salad.

Sad about Harrahs, I'll miss Sammy's Showroom and the Greg Thompson Productions (Lipstick, anyone?)...if it closes.

What's in that pipe, John?

Speaking of smokin avatars...I just got my Christmas shipment of cigars from Thompson.

In years past, I made big orders and sent half to some military types on deployment. Now a days, I know far fewer active duty guys than I once did.

But I now have two humidors....and a whole bunch of sticks to give half to my Brother in Law (former Marine) and ME.

I recently met one Air Force guy that flys over some way far away place and his plane isn't even armed!

So I'm sparkin a stogie Christmas Eve...and I'll save a few for my 4th of July trip for a Zoomie if he's still in the area.

How 'bout you, John? The jarheads teach you about cigars?

Merry Christmas, all.

Out of concern for Harrah's, I checked the Sammy's showroom calendar. I certainly didn't see much for January but there is a Blue's brother type act there in February. So...maybe there's hope.

I've never gambled much at Harrah's but I've seen some great shows at Sammy's. Greg London's show was a lot of fun. Had some good meals at Harrah's various restaurant venues as well.

If the demise of Harrah's is really in the offing, I hope they'll have the decency to put Harold's and the Nevada Club back up. (Yeah OK, I'll get real in the New Year!)

John, it's apparent you've been practicing your fracticing.

And Lily...going on your end of the year trip must have a sense of Deja vu. It does for us! Hope you have an even better time than you've already reported?

JD, smoke 'em if you got 'em!

Happy Holidays to all my friends! Hope everyone has a lucky upcoming 2012. I'll be down on the Oregon Coast, hoping for stormy weather and big wins at Chinook Winds Casino. I'll be haeded back to Reno in Feb for my husband and I's ten year anniversary. Staying two nights in Tahoe and four at The Peppermill. Cheers!!! Smile

I found the photo of my pals and I enjoying a moment with Merrill Osmond right after the Holiday Show. Good, cheezy times.

You have to upload your picture to a site like Photobucket... http://photobucket.com/ (Set up a free account first). Then while still on photobucket, click the IMG code that appears when you hover your mouse cursor over your image. That will automatically copy the image code and you can paste it straight into your VisitReno post. Use the VisitReno preview button to make sure you've got it right.

It sounds complicated at first but it gets easier with a bit of practice. Looking forward to seeing your picture(s).

If BCD's method gives you trouble, just email the picture to me and I'll take care of putting it in your post.
