Misterd,
I actually had or should I say have a $20 bet on the Cardinals to win the World Series only problem is I made the wager in April and I can't seem to find the ticket. Part of me wants the Tigers to win so I don't have to turn the house upside down!

I hope you find your ticket. Both my teams are out, so I am just watching, hoping for a good series. What were the Cards going for in April?

Wow, Dave, a bummer. But you WILL find that ticket. 'After all, how can the Tigers win the Series without old Sparky. He was the man. I loved his managing in Cincy too.
Perhaps Dave of the fancy avatar fame can make you up a counterfeit ticket that will pass. |

Keep checking. Perhaps you can be viewer 21,000. I love those round numbers. Now I need one next week, like $1,000 on a VP machine. |

Hey found it! It is 5-1 odds. So $100 for a $20 wager. What a relief. Now I just need the Cards to pull it out for me, Tigers are hot. You know it is funny cause I kind of just picked them on a whim. I am a Mariner's fan but I knew that wasn't happening. So I just figured with LaRussa and a stud like Pujols you never know. We'll see, it is exciting though.
Misterd do you ever go down to Reno in March to watch the NCAA tournament? Man that is a ball!
Take care,
Dave |

Dave,
Great I am glad you found your ticket. Yes March Madness is great, The bar by the sports book at Cal Neva gets crazy. We usually get a room for a couple nights for the opening round.
I don't know where you bet at but Cal Neva and their satellite locations you have one year from the date of the event to collect. It is that way also at Harrah's and I beleive Silver Legacy. The Leroy's location you can collect at any Leroy's location not just the one you bet at but you only have 30 days to collect your money.
Again congrulations on your win and finding your ticket.

Most of those future bets are "to" one not "for" one so you should get your 100 dollars and your 20 back for 120 total coming back to you.
Great keep it up.

I am now onsite doing my part to build a better Reno. Looking forward to awards for slot tourney in about 4 hours. Hope my luck is as good as yours was in finding the ticket.
BTW, my bride is still with me. I think I'll keep her in spite of her many birthdays. (Course I have had more). |

Thanks Guys. I really appreciate it. Yeah that was a lot of fun. I had so much fun doing that I am now trying to figure out who is going to win the Superbowl!
Glad to hear from you Jerry. I think we should all plan on having a beverage together in Reno next March. That is a great amtosphere and my favorite sporting event has to be the NCAA Men's tourney.
I am happy to hear your wife is doing well Jerry. You must be working on ONE LONG trip report pal!
TAke care guys,

Dave, I am having a large anniversary party in LV in March. Course, I do have to come thru Reno enroute both ways and usually manage a day or two in each direction. |

Hey Jerry;
This is kinda neat. I'm on topic with this message. It was my bride's birthday the day before we met you at the Fireside lounge. It was a fun get together wasn't it? We had a great stay in Reno and we'll be posting a trip report real soon.

Yes, Dave, it was and is always a fun get-together.
Today is half way to my bride's NEXT birthday. Can you believe this thread has survived that long?
So, that means (if she was OLD on her last birthday) that she is now OLD and one-half.
That ought to bring Stan out of the closet for some mathematical comments.
BTW, Stan, did I spell "lagniappe" correctly? Or, as we used to say in Appalachia before my education (most of it on this board) Kee-Rectly |

Jerry, I'm pretty certain you got "Lagniappe" exactly kee-rect.
Sorry, but I couldn't offer ya any mathemagical conjectures; that's someone else's department. Let me just say that the cornucopia of posts to this thread have wrought a dialectic that is nothing less than fervid in its gyrations. |
