|
|
The parking plaza holds 1,600 vehicles and has self parking on the 3rd through 6th floors. The first and second floors are for valet and the 3rd is reserved for diamond, platinum and gold level players.
The entrance is what they call a speed ramp and has digital space indicators so you can find an empty spot without driving around. The ramp is also heated to stay snow and ice free. At present, they are building a skyway from the third floor to the hotel/casino. That should be done by late fall.
The current plan is to begin construction on the hotel tower and convention late this month.
Wow! I'm excited! |

That's the page with the construction cameras which were updated every 15 minutes. The one on the page this morning is dated Sept. 21, so they may have pulled the cams.
I would walk over there and take a few pics myself, but I'm very lazy. Maybe LLK will grab a few on his way to windy hill. |

I'll be happy to; however, if you are looking for speed, you might want another alternative. My trip is still 36 days out.

Speed is definitely not an issue, so Larry, get some good snapshots, and we'll anxiously await your full travelogue slideshow when you get back. |

Is it just me or does that six story parking garage only have five levels?

Gotta count the roof. I wonder if that's heated too? |

Slapdad, it looks like you're right. The flyer the Pep sent me claimed six levels, but I, too, see only five. Next time I'm over there, I'll investigate this mystery. |

Another fine "Stanism". You are a fine piece of work, Stan. Hope we get to meet someday. |

You're too kind, Hawk - I'm just trying to keep things interesting in these long absences between Jerry posts.
I'll get back up there one of these days! If only Real Estate would pick up... |

Where is jerry? why does he not write?
actually, he has lost his computer access. It went with his home in July.
He is now on extended honeymoon on the WA coast. Tomorrw I will visit the 50 foot beached whale at Long Beach. Next week, down the OR coast.
My 'puter time is limited to library access. Hard to keep up.
Miss you guys and reading these posts. Sadly, Reno has a low priority right now and no plans to visit. Just got my mail today and did not have a single freee room offer. Amazing considering how much I lose when I visit.
Later guys and gals. |

I'm at the Peppermill now and yes there are six floors of parking. The look of the structure is deceiving. There are two floors for valet, one floor for those with high level frequent loser cards, and three more floors for commoners. The speed ramp goes up the back end of the structure with an entrance to each non-valet floor. It's awesome! There's no need to wind around the floors to go up or down. It's very efficient and fast. Hands down it's the best casino garage I've ever had the pleasure of using. Now there's more than enough parking for everybody, but I anticipate that might change after they build the new 600 suite tower. Needless to say, the Peppermill seems to be doing very well.
My only complaint about the Peppermill today is that they will shut off the hot water between 7:00 pm tonight and 7:00 am tomorrow morning. I can't tell you how much that sucks! I feel sorry for anybody who is staying in a spa room, or has an early morning flight. I think it's very slimey of them not to tell people about this scheduled maintenance in advance of making reservations -- I woke up to a note under the door. If I was paying for my room, I'd demand to be moved to another hotel! _________________ Everyone knows it's unlucky to be superstitious! |

You're right, Joe. It's a magical structure, probably designed by M. C. Escher. There are six floors when viewed from the east, but only 5 when viewed from the west. I'm afraid of it now. |
