I will add my best wishes.
But, Dave, you gotta dump that disgusting avatar.
I am pleased to announce that most downtown casinos have jumped right in and obeyed the will of the voters. Many more areas are now totally non-smoking. Yippee for us as we can now patronize more places.
We had a great evening in the Brew Brothers, now TOTALLY NON-SMOKING..... Last week, we spent many, many hours in two of the Peppermill's (now) non-smoking bars. Our last day there we were unable to get a seat. |

Jerry, have a little heart for the poor, politically incorrect Cyber-puffer. Not only does he draw on his cancer-stick every seven seconds but he also draws that damn seven of spades equally as often. And yet, despite this depressing and dismal existence, he still extends his warmest (albeit smoke filled) wishes to all for a Merry Christmas!
BC Dave
P.S. But I may have a new avatar by New Year's. |

I was well aware of Jerry's virulent anti-smoking position, and thus admired his restraint in not jumping in on that other thread to clean my clocks.
I'll wrap up the issue in a big Christmas bow by once again invoking the beauty of living in a society where the will of the voters is obeyed.
Would it be outrageously anachronistic of me to say, "God bless America"? Too bad, 'cuz I just did.
And a hearty Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa triumvirate to all.
Thanks, John, for not only hosting this board, but contributing such gleefully wacky insights.
Thanks, everyone, for being a member, throwing in your two cents, and being a part of our fine community.
Dave, thanks again for arguing the unpopular position with me and giving us the hilarious avatar, but you might as well change it, since we've pretty much put the issue to bed.
Merry XXX-mas to all, and to all a good run (on the slots/tables/roulette wheels, etc.) |

Stan,
I've told the Puffer it's time for a change but it seems he doesn't want (or isn't able) to quit.
Actually a change is in the works.

What a typical smoker! Make sure to give him the bum's rush.
But we all know you'll have a highly entertaining new avatar to dazzle us with, but hurry up - after all, we don't want you to be ava-tardy!
Sorry, again - couldn't resist. That's got to be my sixth strike by now.
(But thanks for sharing your gift with us!) |

BC Dave- It is just about time for New Years Resolutions. I would hope that Cyber Puffer will decide to quit smoking "cold turkey" on January 1st. I know he can do it.
After puffering non stop, I can imagine the color of his teeth must be the color of a banana peel. Good thing he exhales out of the corner of his mouth, and does not show those gems. I hate to think about his breath! |

I agree! Sounds like a great New Years Resolution to me. I need to get my husband in on that one. |

I wasn't going to weigh in on the smoking issue but now that it keeps going on and on I am.
I sometimes sit outside and have a drink with friends who smoke cause I like visiting with them and the smoke is not so intense if I stay upwind. I mostly avoid places that still allow smoking indoors.
That said the Surgeon General has said as many as 50,000 Americans die each year of second hand smoke. Let's say that number is to high. Lets say the actual number is only one person dies of second hand smoke. Is that number to many?
Best of luck to all.

I did my weighing in a while back and promised not to do it again. A new white toothed Avatar is in the works.
How about a quote from Rodney Dangerfield.
"Yesterday I ran into the Surgeon General....He offered me a cigarette!"

Gee, I thought I was quite restrained, yet look at all the new discussion.
I keep finding more and more restrictions. Now, all of MGM's Circus upstairs is non-smoking. Unfortunately, I saw two guys ignoring it tonight.
The downtown casinos in Reno are mostly not bad on the casino floors, unless you are tooo close to a smoker.
The air is far better in Eldo, Legacy, and Circus than it now is in my (once) favorite casino, the Siena.
Atlantis has always been horrible and Peppermill is quite bad. Just walking into the brand-new (and otherwise very nice) sports book, I gagged instantly on the bad air.
It's a shame that new technology does not provide cleaner, safer air for all. It's all coming but, unfortunately, not in my lifetime.
Stan, we'll take off a strike: I appreciated your funny comments above.
I trust that I am not "tardy" in responding. |

Thanks, and I'm very hopeful that the extra strike will help me with the dailysex - er, sorry, I meant the dyslexia.
I wonder if this will qualify me for the ana-grammies?
Yep, we're on a roll here, since we don't care for Pumpernickel.
Okay, I swear that's all the pun-ditz for the rest of the year.
Happy new year, everyone!
p.s. - wonderful new avatar, Dave - have you considered working for av-atari? I hear they make video games or something... |

Thanks. Send me an application Stan. I can retire from the "Ferry" business in a couple of years and like to keep my options open. BC Dave |
