Hi everyone, I know it's been discussed on the board before but can anyone tell me what the rules are regarding the Free $100 Slot Play offer that the Pep offers for new cardmembers? We are going back on Sunday-Tuesday and I have a neighbor who doesn't have a Passport card yet. So hopefully she can win some money on their dime haha.

I think someone mentioned that it's only valid for the first hour of play, it's more of a reimbursal thing vs. them putting free slot play on the card, and something about how if you win anything you have to cash out or it won't be valid, something like that?

I will post a TR when I get back. Hoping the lucky machines will yield good again.

Thanks,
Mammothgambler

Hi MG. The one hour limit is correct - you play for an hour and they reimburse your losses up to $100 in free play. The big thing is you have to mention the promotion when you sign up for the card. I'm not sure if they'll honor it otherwise. Not sure about the cash out thing, though. Someone said something about cashing out and using new money when you switch machines. I took Marlene over there because she wanted to try the promotion. She used the cash out ticket whenever she switched machines and the free play was the same as her losses (about $60).

Another thing to remember is not to put all your free play in a machine at one time. The only way to get it out of the machine is to play it. Put it all in a machine that's very rude and you've lost it.

Have fun on your trip and I hope your neighbor slaps the Pep silly.

John

Mammoth,
For the free play, the re-imburse you up to your $100.00 in losses for your first hour of play. I was the one who suggested cashing out your ticket and inserting new money. My friend did not do this and got screwed. they told her because she was playing with wins, she did not really loose that much. I dont know. This is what they said. Who knows how true that is.

Alison and John,

Thanks for the info. We'll be sure to investigate everything carefully. Now, our other neighbor is trying to get us to stay at Harrah's Reno because he just got some free nights there...No way! Even though it's free there I'd much rather be at the Peppermill. Just thought about it, in all the Reno visits I've had, I've only been downtown one time. Might swing over there to try out the Ichiban but that'll probably be it.

Hoping for the best. So far this season, I've had a Thanksgiving Day jackpot, three President's Day jackpots, and that random snowy day jackpot...hopefully the Pep will deliver a big one for my birthday as well! I'll post a TR when I get back.

Thanks again,
Mammothgambler

Have fun on your trip. Hope your winning streak continues.

Have you updated your address with the Players Club? Are you now considered a local? Can you participate in those local promotions they have?

Hey Alison,

Thanks and yeah I'm hoping the streak goes on and on...Yeah I've actually been pretty diligent with the address update thing since I got here (actually, for Reno, Tahoe and Vegas!) I think the only ones I have left are the downtown casinos and the Gold Dust West, but they're all about 4 years old with no play so I kind of haven't bothered. It's crazy how people make you come inside to do the address change thing. Out of my whole big stack of cards, there were only about 2 or 3 that let me do it online, or on the phone, everyone else makes you actually be there.

I'll have to look into the local thing, but I'm not sure...everything is so closeby, but I am in California. Some of those local promos do look good though so I'll see.

im so jelous you are going to be there! I am sooo bummed i am not going like planned this weekend. My friend is now going with her mother and they get to check out the new tuscany tower rooms. She is going to check them out and decide if we should stay there this August or not. We may just stay in the old tower as they are supposed to have begun remodeling those. I like being able to drop straight down to the casino.

Yes they are starting the reconstruction on the tower rooms from what I hear. This is probably going to be my last viewing of velour, black lacquer, trippy wall lights, monster black hot tub, and silver leafy wallpaper. I'm kinda bummed! Hopefully they won't get rid of the moon carpet anytime soon...

Well, be sure to tell your friend to drop us a report on the Tuscany Tower. Sorry your trip got cancelled but that'll make it all the better for when you go in August. I didn't realize it, but it probably is a little walk to get to the casino from those rooms. I think I'm going to check to see how it's connected, I wonder if they built a walkway or if you have to go outside?

I hope mammoth is not staying in the old tower.

Pep is remodeling 3 floors at a time....and using another floor to store all the furniture, supplies, etc.

It will be loud!!!! since any marble or tile has to be broken up with a jack-hammer

Ryder,
Do you know how far along they are with the remodeling? We might end up staying in the old tower in August, if there are remodeled rooms available.

Hey Ryder thanks for the heads up. I had no idea they had all that going on already. I was supposed to get a heavily discounted Imperial Suite with my mailer offer BUT just got notified that there are none available on the first night, they said there was one but a Diamond Player reserved it! Meanwhile they're showing up as totally available on their site. Every trip I've taken there, something has gone whack with the reservations, can't wait to be able to check in thru VIP. So now, my options are down to a $19 Tower Room but if they have all that madness going on I might be better off in the Mo' Bay wing. Hopefully I'll get in somehow.

Mammoth,
did you call the VIP office to see about booking instead of the regular reservations line?

Yeah that's the next step, I'm gonna try the 5555 number. The one I called is the 800-282-2444 # that's printed on the mailer and I just checked and its also the # on the back of my card (that I haven't had any luck with in the past!)

Im sorry you always seem to have issues with reservations. Good thing the winning you seem to always do there kinda helps make up for that. Smile
