Hey everyone I'm not going against the Pep (even though they ticked me off last time) but I received an offer for 3 free nights in the Concierge tower at the Atlantis. I guess playing those nickel Double Diamonds for seven hours on my birthday trip in March got me somewhere...

Has anyone stayed here and or know anything good or bad? Their casino seems decent, no big wins there yet but it's always "that other place" I go when I visit the Pep.

Best news of all, after snowboarding and gambling and getting used to my new turf out here all winter I started my new job today...I'm now the design and production manager at a publishing company that does the newspaper and seven magazines here. Little did I know the move out here was going to give me that much of a career boost, I really lucked out! So I gotta go celebrate before the madness sets in. Sold my old Chevy Tahoe on eBay and am looking around for a 4WD/AWD as well...anyone know of any decent car lots in Reno or have a Subaru Outback for sale?

I also found out that there is a shuttle bus that goes from Reno all the way out here to Mammoth and beyond to Ridgecrest and it's about the same price as the Reno/Tahoe shuttle (and about half the price of driving there, which gives me that many more reasons to go...) If anybody is ever interested in checking out this area or Yosemite from Reno down the scenic 395, check this link:

http://www.countyofinyo.org/transit/CRESTpage.htm

It stops in Gardnerville, Topaz Lake and Carson City along the way and appears to be a fun little route for a gaming run, casinos at just about every stop on the Nevada side (and an Indian Casino in Bishop).

Let me know about the rooms at the Atlantis, and thanks again Peppermill, you funded my whole winter LOL!

Re the Atlantis offers: They send me nothing now cause I don't like the Atlantis. Too smoky, too crowded space-wise. I never do well there. And they always make me mad when I try to eat there.
They also have the mysterious slot club rules, ala Alison's Castle down the street.

That being said: We once stayed in the Concierge Tower and LOVED it. I would stay there in a heartbeat. If they offered free, I would book it, and I would gamble enough to justify my stay.

They have free horses ovaries in the evening that made meals for us.
I think they also offer continental bkfst. So a good deal and it saved us a lot on food since the only two places in Reno that DON'T comp our food are: Atlantis and Peppermill. At one time, they offered free cocktails but when we there one had to purchase them. Bummer.

Do you need a roommate? Smile

Mammoth,
Can't say i have ever stayed there. In fact i think i have only set foot in the casino there briefly about 5 years ago.

I plan on going there on my next trip though. I need to start getting some more offers from other places.

Make sure to tell us all about it once you do stay there. I woudl defintely take advantage of that offer though.

Guido and I will discuss this with you on Tuesday nite, John.
As Ali has politely informed you, fuhgeddaboutit.
Guido and I will perhaps be a bit more persuasive.
BTW, Guido drinks Coors Light but don't let that fool you. He has expensive tastes and takes care of his body.

Oh well, had to try.

WAIT! I don't want to share Jerry. Hawk can keep him. C'mon, Ali, at least think about it.

Don't blame the moderator. I did not delete this image from Photo Bucket but it certainly makes me wonder what was on it.

I haven't stayed at the Atlantis in a long, long time, but the Concierge tower is the only way to go.

My host pissed me off quite a few years ago and I vowed never to go back (though I have gambled there a couple times since...lol). He had promised me a concierge room and I reconfirmed a couple times before going (it was a special occasion).

When we got there he said we couldn't have a concierge room because a lot of people had decided to stay an extra night because of a fight (on pay per view). I called my host at the Peppermill and he got us a room and we walked out of Atlantis and never looked back.

They used to have the best offers, better than the Peppermill, but I think the Peppermill finally figured it out and now they're on par w/the Atlantis.
