It kinda reminded me of life in Southern California on a much smaller scale. I felt one quake for about 10 seconds and it was pretty mild. Odd thing is my parrots didn't panic until a few seconds into the event. Normally they're hauling butt about a second or two before the quake. I wonder if they felt the smaller ones and were getting used to the movement. Or maybe they're just plain stupid.

Wow, this sounds like a rather significant event in view of the fact that Reno is getting 3 per day and occurring regularly for two months.
Now more severe. Yikes.

Used to have those in Denver on very regular basis until it was determined that the Feds were causing them. The public got that corrected.

I was originally going to joke that the tremors were caused by anxiously packing for a trip to Reno. Now, it seems more serious. Hope they stop (what, suddenly after two months) before I arrive there.
I don't like my beer "shook up" and spraying on me.
OTOH, it is better than BC Dave's "spray".

An article in this morning's RGJ said there were almost 100 earthquakes on Friday, including the biggest so far, a 4.9 magnitude last night. We live in the area where most of the activity is happening and have had 5 small temblors so far this morning. The one last night shook a few things off shelves and skewed all the picture frames on the walls but did not do any major damage. (Just had another one, make that 6 so far, just a slight thump and the dog got all nervous).

Most of these can't be felt more than a mile or two from the epicenter, but the bigger ones can sometimes be felt downtown. I doubt they would be noticed in the casinos, though, with all the slot machine noise, muzak and other distractions.

The big one last night woke me, too, Remano. According to the RGJ's site, it has been reevaluated to 4.7 from 4.9.

Since most of the quakes have been going on in the Mogul area, I'm wondering if Boomtown customers are feeling a little uneasy. Maybe someday soon Reno will have beachfront property.

In view of the ongoing earthquakes and the growing intensity and numbers. SHOULD I CANCEL MY TRIP TO RENO, planning to leave in 40 hours.
??????????????????????????????????///

In anticipation of a negative response to my question, should I continue (as usual) and request a room on a HIGH floor???

Or should I simply go, drink an excessive number of Fat Tires, and forget about the earthquakes.

I say go. The chance of getting hit by a big earthquake is about the same as the chance of hitting a huge jackpot. With all these earthquakes around, can the huge jackpot be far behind? Go for it!!!
