On our last trip, R mentioned that the casinos should be bringing busloads up to Reno, bypassing the Indian casinos. Maybe they've been doing this already, but our experience in the past was you PAID for the bus.

Today we get an email that Harrah's will pick us up, feed us on the bus, there was even a mention of cocktails (on the bus?), free. The marketing is getting a little more aggressive now, good for them.

Pick you up? As in drive the bus to pick you up at your house?

Bus sounds so low class....... the correct term is "coach". Very Happy

there are several stops, we would have to go into sac, I wonder what level you would have to be to get the front door transportation? More than our measly coin would warrant, I bet.

Coach, eh? yeah, that does sound better, but as long as it's being driven by a new "bus" driver, I'm a little nervous. There have been some bad accidents lately by non-professional drivers. + we like having our car so we can move around for the free slot play at the different casinos.

Still, the idea of sitting high, viewing the Sierra's through those panoramic windows, cocktail in one hand, vienna sausage in the other, maybe......

In the early days of my Reno meanderings, I used a service called "Lucky Tours", which still exists - but goes to Reno no longer.

And the whole thing was remarkably cheesy, of course, but for convenience and price, it was a good deal. Affordable, and one didn't have to drive - if those factors were important to you, then it was worthwhile.

I now lament the passing of those carefree days, but it has more to do with missing what was left of my youth at the time than with anything particular that Lucky Tours did, but it was still a useful service.
