Nevada Day

October 30–31

Nevada's statehood holiday. The parade and the bulk of the celebration are in Carson City, half an hour south.

Nevada became a state on 31 October 1864. Since 2000 the public holiday has been observed on the last Friday in October, with the Carson City parade and events on the Saturday.

Reno marks it lightly; Carson City is where to go if you want the parade.

When things happen

  • The Nevada Day Parade steps off in Carson City at 10am on the Saturday and runs along North Carson Street.
  • The Friday is the observed state holiday; Reno itself marks it lightly.
