Casinos

Reno lost its casino monopoly to California’s tribal gaming twenty years ago, and the properties that survived did it by becoming better hotels rather than bigger casinos. That is why the two nicest rooms in the city are in a strip-mall stretch of South Virginia Street and not under the Arch.

The three downtown properties — the Eldorado, the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus — are connected to each other by enclosed skywalks and run as one operation called The Row. In practice they function as a single very large building with three names.
