Circus Circus Reno
The family option downtown: a free circus midway above the casino floor, and the starting point for most of Reno's bar crawls.
Circus Circus is the northern end of The Row and the one property downtown that is built for children as well as adults. The midway above the casino floor runs free circus acts through the day and is surrounded by carnival games — genuinely useful in a city where the gaming floors are strictly 21+ and much of downtown is not set up for families.
It is also the traditional start line for Reno's big bar crawls. The Zombie Crawl in October and the Santa Crawl in December both kick off here, which is worth knowing whether you are joining them or avoiding them.
It is the cheapest of the three connected properties and it feels it. That is the trade, and for a family it is often the right one.
Good for
- Travelling with children downtown
- The cheapest walkable downtown base
- The bar crawls, if that is what you are here for
Worth knowing first
- It is dated, and the midway is loud. If you want quiet, this is the wrong end of The Row.
- Crawl nights — mid-October and mid-December — are not cheap or quiet here.
