Atlantis Casino Resort Spa
The Peppermill's closest rival, skywalk-connected to the convention centre — which in January is the whole argument.
The Atlantis is the other reason to stay in South Reno. It is run by Monarch Casino & Resort, it competes directly with the Peppermill a mile up the road, and the two properties have been improving each other for twenty years.
Its structural advantage is the skywalk to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. If you are here for a trade show, that connection means never going outside, and Reno in winter makes that worth real money.
Its buffet has a long-standing local reputation, which in a city that invented the casino buffet and then largely abandoned it is a distinction worth noting.
