Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum
Reno's hands-on science museum — 67,000 square feet of things children are allowed to touch, at the south end of downtown.
Known locally as The Discovery. It is a science centre in the modern sense: galleries built around doing rather than reading, covering science, engineering, invention and Nevada's own natural history.
It is aimed at families and it is the obvious answer to a wet or a very hot day with children in Reno, of which there are plenty of both.
It sits at the south end of downtown on Center Street, within walking distance of the casino core but far enough that most visitors drive.
